How do I join Midlands Mates Joining is very simple and is FREE! Complete our simple form with a few details about yourself and a short description. Enter your email address and choose a password and your login details will be emailed to you. Your email address will be kept completely private and will never appear to other members. Once you have completed your profile and logged in, you can start searching for people from your area.
Does it cost anything to join? At the moment, our site is totally FREE! It will always be free to add your profile and photos and to search for other members, but at some time in the future we may be charging a small membership fee to allow you to contact other members. In the meantime, make the most of our TOTALLY FREE dating services!
Why do I need to enter an activation code when I register? The activation code is a security feature to ensure the email address you have registered belongs to you. Your activation code is sent to this address and you need to enter it on the site in order to activate your profile.
How many messages can I send in one day? You can send up to 50 messages in any 24 hour period. This limit is to prevent spammers abusing the service.
I keep requesting the Activation Code to be re-sent to me, but it never arrives? This could be for a couple of reasons, make sure that your email address is correct or you will not receive it. If you still have not received your activation code and your address is correct this could be because your email provider is blocking the email thinking it is spam, please check your spam filters and if possible set MidlandsMates.co.uk as a safe sender.
Do you pass on my e-mail address to third parties? Unlike some other site we will never pass on your email address to other parties or send you emails promoting other company’s products.
I have forgotten my login details, how do I get them re-sent? You can have your login details resent at any time by clicking Forgotten? next to the login link on the Home Page then completing your email address. We will then email your details to you.
I have requested my Login Details, and am not receiving them? Your login details are sent to the email address you registered with, if you entered your address incorrectly then you will not receive your login details.
I am typing in my password and the system says it is incorrect? Please double check your password is the one you specified when joining, please also check your Member ID is correct. If in doubt you can have your login details resent at any time by clicking the login link on the Home Page then clicking the link under the login box to have your login details resent.
I have forgotten my password and/or Member ID, what should I do? You can have your login details resent at any time by clicking the login link on the Home Page then clicking the link under the login box to have your login details resent.
Can I change my password? You can change your password at any time by logging into the My Profile section of the site.
Are all of my personal details confidential? Your personal details such as email address, password and home address are all kept confidential. Other members will only be able to see what you have chosen to put on your public profile.
How do I search for a date? To do a search first login then click Search in the top menu. Specify your search criteria and click Search!
How do I edit my profile? You can edit your profile at any time by logging into the My Profile section of the site.
How do I contact other members? When you have found a member that you would like to contact, view their profile then click one of the options in the menu on the left - Send Message, Send a Kiss etc. The Instant Message option will only be available if the member is online.
How do I post a message on the forum or join a chat room? You need to have registered on the Midlands Mates site before you can use the forum or chat features. Once you have registered and logged in, click Forum or Chat in the top menu.
How do I cancel my membership? You can cancel your membership at any time by emailing cancel@midlandsmates.co.uk with instructions. We will cancel your account as soon as possible (normally within 48 hours maximum). You can however simply suspend your membership so that your profile is not visible to other members, and you can disable e-mail notifications from within the My Profile section. This means you will be able to re-activate your membership at any time without having to register again.
Can I suspend my membership? You can suspend your profile at any time, which removes you from search results. To suspend your profile, log in, then in your control panel under member info, click Suspend on the right hand side.
I no longer wish to receive e-mail notifications when I receive a message. You can switch off the email notifications by logging in, and clicking on My Profile. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Do Not Notify Me.
